Corpus Christi

-- I will give you me, as a memorial
-- of the agony so what now is
-- will be made new
fed to you by the Incomprehensible

Stay close to this food, it will
keep this beautiful ship
afloat, a lovely bride for the groom.
made infallible for the Incomprehensible.
(excerpt from the poem Incomprehensible)

Today is the official day on which Corpus Christi takes place. Romans circa 100 A.D. (please no one ever say C.E.) accused Christians of worshipping food. Well, today these "Romans" are called Protestants (which means protester) they claim that it's the worst sacrilege to worship bread. Of course a true Catholic knows, "...what bread?" There remains no evidence that the early Christians believed what Protestants believe. Search for St. Ignatius of Antioch on the internet. He is very clear on what they believed circa 100. Of course no proof matters unless they have faith.

Of the glorious Body telling, O my tongue, its mysteries sing, And the Blood, all price excelling, Which the world's eternal King, In a noble womb once dwelling Shed for the world's ransoming. Given for us, descending, Of a Virgin to proceed, Man with man in converse blending, Scattered he the Gospel seed, Till his sojourn drew to ending, Which he closed in wondrous deed. At the last great Supper lying Circled by his brethren's band, Meekly with the law complying, First he finished its command Then, immortal Food supplying, Gave himself with his own hand. Word made Flesh, by word he maketh Very bread his Flesh to be; Man in wine Christ's Blood partaketh: And if senses fail to see, Faith alone the true heart waketh To behold the mystery. Therefore we, before him bending, This great Sacrament revere; Types and shadows have their ending, For the newer rite is here; Faith, our outward sense befriending, Makes the inward vision clear. Glory let us give, and blessing To the Father and the Son; Honour, might, and praise addressing, While eternal ages run; Ever too his love confessing, Who, from both, with both is one. Amen.

---Pange Lingua by St. Thomas Aquinas

Bread of Angels, made the bread of men; The Bread of heavenputs an end to all symbols:A thing wonderful! The Lord becomes our food:poor, a servant, and humble. We beseech Thee, Godhead One in ThreeThat Thou wilt visit us,as we worship Thee, lead us through Thy ways, We who wish to reach the lightin which Thou dwellest.Amen.

Dead Whale Found in River, Scientists Puzzled

Scientists are mystified by the carcass of a young beluga whale found in a river in central Alaska, nearly 1,000 miles from its natural ocean habitat. The first guess is the 8-foot-long whale, which often feed on fish in estuaries and the mouths of rivers, swam away from the ocean in search of food. "What are the alternatives?" asked Link Olson, a curator at the University of Alaska Museum of the North. It was highly unlikely that someone was perpetrating a hoax along a remote section of river with a whale carcass, he said.--CNN

He is Risen

Has anyone ever noticed how at the end of John's gospel he writes that Mary Magdalene was not aloud touch him, but 8 days later he tells Thomas to touch his wounds. Many people don't understand this. He tells Mary she can't touch Him because He has not yet ascended to the Father. Jesus is lamb sacrifice that takes away our sins. For Jews a holocaust would take place and the priests were the ones who would handle the lamb that was being sacrificed. The smoke from the animal would ascend up. Then, the priests would know that God has accepted the offering and forgiven their sins. So you might already see where this is going. Jesus only aloud a priest, Thomas, to touch him. Mary could not touch Jesus because she was not a priest. Some people might recall the accusation made that Mary was suppose to be the first pope. John's gospel is dated to the 1st century. That doesn't make any sense at all. A woman on the show brought up how this relates to the whole idea of women being priests and it does relate to that. God told his apostles (this could have a broader meaning, but this does apply to vocations and i am pretty sure that he was with just the apostles when he said this) you didn't choose me, I chose you. People say that it's descimination not to allow women to become priests. They tend to think that if a woman wants to be a priest she should be able to, but it's not the person that chooses such a thing, God chooses it. God chose James and John to follow him and they just said yes. Not the other way around like in the case of female priests. I saw this on EWTN and a professor from St. John Vianney Seminary was on it and explained it.
