(use your imagination and place a title here)
well, i'm glad i can post, i'm tired right no, i should probably just go to bed.
Anyway some things i would like to say and hopefully the Holy Spirit can guide me so what I say is what I should say. How is it that the Bible can have such seemingly opposite meanings at times? Well, it's like Chemistry. But before I say the analogy, It is known that truth can't condradict itself. So letting that be known you can't have two things be true that condradict. Philosophers call this the Law of Condradiction. The Bible is the Word of God. God is the way the Truth and the life. The Bible contains truth revealed to man (let anyone reading this please realize that Sola Scriptura is false because private interpretation has caused so many different people to condradict themselves while still claiming that they interpreted it correctly. So how do they know which is correct. They must ask the people who it was handed down to from the original writers who were the tools of God that wrote down God's Word. The official term is apostolic succesion i believe.) Since truth can't contradict itself and the bible contains the truth of God then, (though seeming like "Tom Logic") The Bible must not condtradict itself because of the Law of Condradiction. Back to the analogy of chemistry (analogies are simply analogies so they will have techincal errors, but they are meant to be used to understand what can't be understood, in an abstract way) In chemistry according to the Law of Conservation of Mass, in nature (of course not supernature which would be God so he doesn't follow his own rules if you are wondering if this just means that science has nothing to do with God which it does) mass cannot be created or destroyed. In chemical formula equations. you may have for instance H2+O2--->H2O. The uneducated person would think this contradicts the Law of conser. of mass. It obviously doesn't so you must balance this. Basically you fill in the blanks. The little extra bits of information that you need in order to fully understand what's going on. When it comes to scripture, it sometimes seems as though it contradicts itself, but if you understand the little extra bits of information things become clearer and you soon realize that at the surface it seems contradictory, but if you "balance" it then you soon realize that there is no contradiction at all. The following equation is balanced to 2H2+O2--->2H2O. So even though it seemed as though it shouldn't make sense, it does. Hopefully this all makes sense. Feel free to add something to this that I may have left out in the handy dandy leave comment thingy.

yeah i think that a lot of the 'contradictions' are mostly problems with our own understanding. We assume that whatever a writer meant by what he was writing must be the same as what we would have meant...of course forgetting that there is 2000 years and huge cultural differences.
I was reading an interesting article on why extremely literal translations are not always the best because the literal translation of a word isn't always accurate. Like the passages saying that Jesus had brothers...well that is the literal translation..but what it doesn't tell us is that people in that time called cousins, uncles, nephews etc...brothers.
